I ain't changing anything, I'm only building a new pickguard loaded with P-90's to use when I feel like it.

Yep…like having a spare loaded Strat pickguard…only all you’ve got to unsolder/re-solder is the ground wire. That is gonna be really cool!!!

Thats the good thing about having a guitar that uses a loaded pickguard.

Update : here's pics of the Melody Maker with its new loaded pickguard, the neck pup is a Gibson slug and the bridge one is a Wilkinson alnico 5. Great combo.

Nice. I'd missed the original post too. Great to have both P90and original pickguards.
You might put bullet connectors on the ground wire; that way changes would be almost instant.
I got bullets for the hot lead & both ground wires on a couple of my Strats.

BTW for inquiring minds, 1977-80 Gibson Melody Maker D is the only model
you can drop in P-90's without modifying or routing the body.
