NGD Epiphone Les Paul Special I

Thanks to B.Good, I got a great deal on this Epi LP Special I. $ 85 delivered to be exact. I have some Sanford Magnetics pickups, which I also know about because of B.Good. Hmm, I wonder what I will name it?

I do recall someone saying that the finish on these Epiphones was rather thin, so if anyone could let me know if it is safe to buff it to a shine, I would appreciate it.

And now, a pic before mods!

You're welcome ...
The veneer is thin on it. I think you should be able to give it a shine without a problem.

Thanks all!

If the veneer is thin, doesn't that mean it is more dangerous to shine it up? I do not want to burn through the yellow.

Mine is getting shiny spots already. So no need to use a machine to do it. I'd say a little elbow grease with rubbing compound would do it. I'm sure it would make the grain pop out. How is that grain on yours ?
