NGD Epiphone 61 Les Paul SG

Stunning !! Right out of the box one of the best guitars ever handled. Quick jam revealed the burstbuckers are what i was looking for. Will elaborate when i get back home & try & find my first picture in a studio with my first SG with SD Alnico 2.

This is spec'd 2 piece body & it is. I favor guitars with no finish pretty much. Swear my SGJ & the Casino with no finish are the best guitars i ever heard.

Only negative & i dont view that way cause i go over them & set em up with crazy low action. Actually bottom them out & come back up to liking. Take approx 2 weeks to set up my Gibson's/Epi will let that neck adjust for a few days & tweak it & bridge until ya just know when your pick hit the string & your fret hand presses down for your particular preference.

There was a cold solder on the Neck pot that i heated up to reattach. I go over them all anyways & sometimes reattach & flow more solder for strong hold

Got to record 61 today. Into Mig 50 & Mad prof Simble.

BB Pickups are clear & should i say bring out the acoustic side of the guitar very transparent.

Versus the 61 Zebra Alico 5 in 2014 SGJ, both close to same output but BB are clean and snarl at the end of volume but are constant taper towards end. By mistake i forgot to to turn my vol knob back up after a phone call for work. On about 5 they were so clean & clear. It will be used a lot like that from now on.

The 61 Zebra are a more aggressive version of the BB from 7 on up on Volume you will find break up quick but it is like a turbo but not fast just constant under control for leads. Its why that 14 SGJ almost always gets the lead part any genre even. It will find the way to poke through.

Here is a pic of 2016 what used in studio for that 1st Album. First 3 guitars ever got in 2016. Got this 61 cause of that very first SG with Alnico 2 on left, man would like to have those back. Shame we sometimes think expensive is better when GAS rears up continually.

edit: pic is tail end 2015, got into guitar. Bugera v22 & Peavey Valveking 2 head is what learned on with homemade cabs. Funny, here i am with Mig 50, Bug v22 & (marshall origin. )The core tone & gain structure has come full circle.
