First guitar have bought in quite a few years(wonder if the binge starts again)

Got it for a very specific reason of chillin on some heavy music. When first had to take guitar duties in 2016, had SG, Strat & es339 & it really was all was needed for rock/hard rock. This at least mentally lol strum more, thinks like the Casino the type of mjusic it made) from Beatles to Cary Clark Jr. Find it very inspirational.

First off Gibson P90's are on the brain but i think the 2 Klon clones can compensate. They say its dark, if anything it shines on the Orange TH30 clean channel real nice. Huge neck pickup tone, that is why i got & for full chord work. Impressed as usual from the Qingdao factory. Should of kept everyone i had from there, great player. & here is the lineup for this next recording run

The Star- 2014 Gibson SGJ-61 Zebra pickups,
Bottom end- Fender Jazz-60's custom shop pickups
Twang & quack- Fender Jimmy Vaughn strat- tex mex pickupsCasino.jpgCasino lineup o.jpg

One of those 5 hour playing sessions, luckily i didn't have to run any calls which is very rare for Saturday. Did the customary turn of truss rod 1/4 turn & bring the bridge down a bit. Every Gibson i go 1/4 or 1/8 turn a week & let it settle to liking & get the action very dialed in.
Its a very good guitar. It stays in tune very well even after moving rod.

The pickups will not need changed, into the Orange its right on & in Bug t5 very good. Learning to use those 2 amps together well. The guitar wrote its first song & have the drums ready to go in Reaper. Love sitting at a kit with a guitar that loud acoustically.

Bonus feature: just walk up to the amp & start the feedback frenzy lol

Havnt played much since the divorce & kinda just worked & stayed in the garage taking cars apart. Something as simple as a 5 watt amp & this guitar brought back pure playing vs analyzing & forcing things

The tone in this gear we have is trapped inside the devices & its our hearts that extract it & make the music !! Big lesson on touch sensitivity & volume this week !

@Mitch Pearrow SJMP torturing the Casino for some heavies. Very interesting Orange th30 gain channel & then i hit the J&H od side to boost. Think what i like is you can purcusively hit the guitar like drum maybe. more effective doing some blues licks but anyways just play..sloppy but wanted to hear it in the orange as reference quick

Congrats! A Casino is an awesome guitar, very 60s rock n roll but surprisingly an aggressive guitar too when dirtied up. It was meant to rival the Gibson ES-330 but ended up blowing it away on almost every level, which was a big thorn in Gibsons side and a bit of embarrassment for them ( you can thank the Beatles for that lol). Fact is, the Casino has never been out of production since 1961 while the ES-330 only lasted about 15 years between 1959 and 1974, so clearly the Casino struck a chord with players ( no pun intended)

Thanks, i gotta admit, can not put it down ! It begs clean to grit to anything ya want. Always picked out my solid bodys by how loud they ring acoustically before plugging in. My SGJ is the loudest solid i ever heard. Without going down the rabbit hole - favor the loud ringing quality.

love this, and a very cool video... Congratulations!

Myself, I was all set to buy a Casino Coupe, but couldn't find one to play at local Guitar shops.
When I went to GC, the sales guys were lounging around fussing with their phones, and
ignoring prospective buyers like me. I finally got one's attention by standing so close to him
it made him nervous. I asked him if they had an Epiphone Casino Coupe, and he looked at me
like I was someone's disoriented grandpa, who walked into GC instead of the used car dealer.

I told him it was a semi-hollow body electric guitar with P-90 pickups. He didn't know what I
was talking about. He motioned vaguely in the direction of a corner of the store and said he
thought their might be some hollow body guitars over there. I was on me own...

What I did find was the Epiphone ES-339, which I played at Guitar Ctr.. I loved the feel and the
sound of this instrument, which is smaller than a Casino but has the two P-90s and costs half
the price. That did it. I plugged it into an Orange Micro Terror, and had to get one of those as well.

I went home and ordered my Epi ES-339 P-90 pro from M/F. I wasn't going to give any pimply face idiot my
business, let them work their phones and wonder why they don't make any commissions.
They were too cool to care if they got my business or not, so they didn't get it.

But I love my Epi ES-339. The body size is about like a Lester. Mine's got a maple
center block, so it's just an electric guitar with a couple of hollow "wings" above and below the
center block. What ever it is, it's one of my fave guitars. Killer tone.
AND it's pretty close to ol' Les Paul's original idea with the 4x4 and some jazz guitar wings
above and below it, to make it "look" like a guitar and not a log.

I did a few mods on this one, of course. But it sounded great stock, and balances perfectly.
