I finally put my s model down long enough to play my other guitars. When I went back to it, I laughed. It's ridiculous. Thing plays amazingly comfortable.

As long as we're revisiting an old thread..... felt I might as well join in. My only Ibanez.

I have an original 540 Saber HSH in Desert Yellow with the 5 way switch. The pickups are Dimarzio with USA printed on the top of each. I cannot find a picture of it. It is a rare custom Ibanez make for the 1987 year. Has the original Wizard neck, most in that year were HSS or SSH and had 3 switches, but mine was different than what you can find in the catalog. It isn't like the Frank Gamble` make. I'll see if can find a pic or I'll take a pic of it. It is still one of my favorite for shredding, harmonics etc.

They used to call these Sabers e.g. 540 Saber then they renamed the convention to S series. The Wizard neck changed to Wizard II and they put jumbo frets on them with Sharktooth pearl inlays and cheaper pickups, I bought two and sold them. They were completely different and IMO not made well. It wasn't worth the money.

I had one of these too:

It was in the same color as the first JS1000 weird dark pearl green which I also have.
