NGD 2011 Gibson SG Junior

Meet Cleveland, she is a dirty Gal. Grabbed some trade gear & headed down I 76 to Philly this morning & came home with this beauty !

Nothing like a single Gibson p90, they have more snarl than any i have played. Not as hot to get the snarl but just something in the tone when OD is applied

Ok, driving for gear wars over. Went west on I 76 & met a guy from Pittsburgh with Recto 50 trade. We meet at Breezewood exit in middle. Today had to drive cause other guy doesn't drive but we all satisfied with the trade

Did quick clean. def leaving the stickers on it. Set up time now, came with the stock lightning bolt bridge but came with upgrade is able have intonation. It was filthy but i saw the gem behind the neglect. Very nice player. Sorta rusty strings & it still sounded incredible in the Marshall,

Happy New Junior Day!

What I love about the Juniors is how solid the neck joint is, without a neck pickup there. Once you rout the pocket for a neck pickup, especially on a '61 - '65 Standard or Custom, there is not much keeping the body together.

The Specials have a bit more meat, but the winner is the Junior. With this type of neck joint, there would only be about 1/2" of wood between the fingerboard and pickup pocket on a Standard or Custom.

Actually a medium size neck, more D shape compared to the JJN LP , kinda interesting playing those 2 guitars back to back & even the p90 Casino. All 3 have a unique sound & attack feel

Kinda went p90's on purpose, tend to play Fenders more & not so much super heavy music.

Nope. They feel super smooth…very like ebony.

@Thatbastarddon is spot on, like the fretboard a lot & the 2014 SGJ, a snappiness maybe to these 2 guitars & they both have a lil bit of maple going on.
