NGD 2003 Gibson ES135

That's really really nice.

The Memphis guitars, if you can get one at the right price, seem to be the level that we expect from a Gibson - a bit more special than most other guitars.

The weird thing I got after buying my 135 and reading up on things around the web is the Memphis made Gibsons were reputed to have the build flaws so many folks encountered out of Gibson.

In my case, my guitar appears fairly well built so far.

Glad yours is perfect and making you happy. It's a beautiful thing when we have high expectations, spend our hard earn $$$ and the expectations are met. I'd love a Memphis 339, but your 135 looks really lovely.

Grumpy, it is not " perfect" but it is initially a nice player with good playability after my quick setup today after cleaning and a string change. Thanks for your well wishes with it. I like 175's, 335, 345, 355 and 339's and if I could have picked any one of them up for same money as I got this 135 for, I would have been happy to do so instead.

Ray, it even has 2 57 classic pups, I have been wanting to try. Major nicety

The 57 in the neck of an SG is lovely and so very versatile, but the 57+ in the bridge just feels a bit meh and lacking to me (in an SG). It'd certainly be interesting to see how they are in the 135 - maybe the bridge 57 fits the characteristics of the guitar better?

Can't say for sure because I haven't been there in a very long time.
They were big enough morons then that I never ever went back.

Gotcha, After you said the moron thing, I googled the place. It appears they closed up shop after nearly 50 years and people either reviewed it as a good place, or a place they wouldn't even take a free guitar from due to rude treatment.

When I was a kid I was once waiting for a friend's mom to pick me up at a shopping center when I felt like I had to pee. So I went in the A and P grocery store to ask if I could use their bathroom. They told they had no bathroom. SO, I never ever went back to that particular store due to them due to being lied to and having to hold it till I somehow was able to go elsewhere.

I like it.

Clearly hand made with all the tiny imperfections that we see on these instruments....
