Never had a pine one. Have had ash and alder. Preferred the alder, the ash one was too brittle-sounding in comparison.
Don’t know about pine. But I have a Tele clone made from bass wood and it seems okay. And a Frankentele I hope to have done this spring. It’s ash. So we’ll see if there’s a difference. Although, ones got singles and the other will have P90s…. So????

This one is as cool as it gets.
When it comes to the electrics I've purchased, I haven't fussed much over the wood..... as it applies to tone. Not sure my ear is educated enough to tell the difference. For me it's aesthetics. I like to see the grain, especially when it's good looking grain. I prefer a translucent stain rather than a painted body. As evidenced by my guitars.
Epiphone, I have been told, basically uses furniture grade mahogony for the body and then glues a pretty verneer on the top and back.
Kit Tele someone else built and painted with a brush. Basswood. Sanded it to bare wood, stained and cleared. Turned out better than I expected.
Put off buying a Strat for a long time. Till I saw this one at Sweetwater. Ash body. Fell in love with the grain pattern and had no choice. Had to have it.
My Franketele. Ash body. Emerald Green stain. Just waiting now on warmer weather so I can clear it. Have an attached garage, but no heat. Figure 40f is too cool for that.

I'm not a Tele guy, but I dunno, I kinda dig these. I like the Wild West gunslinger type theme, especially given that much of the reclaimed wood used likely came from buildings and stuff that were put up during that time period. Well, it should, anyway. Used pallets is less impressive, but oh well.

Using the repurposed wood is kinda cool, I dig it. As for the theme? I dig that too because it fits the motif: having what looks like an old ammunition crate for the second one, paired with shell brass casings as volume and tone knobs as well as the switch. The first is probably the same batch of wood, just a blank section and he went with a wood burning image of a Western Outlaw gunman, so the ammo features play into the theme as well.
