New to me ToneSmith electric guitar...

I can say this, the longer I have and the more I play it, the more I like it. I was, and still am actually, thinking about a Bigsby on it, but the wife is like no that would ruin it type thing. She likes it the way is - I do too honestly, I just like whammy bar guitars.

Love that guitar. So are those mini-hum sized pups in the neck and bridge?

I sent the pics to the guy who made the guitar and the two pups with foil on them are Lace Sensor pickups, but the Lipstick is an import - he said at the time when the guitar was made there weren't USA sourced lipsticks like there are now. I did ask him if I were to replace the Lipstick pup what he'd recommend to compliment the Lace Sensor pups. The Lipstick pup sounds nice, but the tube is pretty wore on top, so was thinking maybe put a new one in.

Top secret stuff in there

Ya, now I have to figure out how to put them back in and I think I may have a solution. Tighten up the top of the mounting springs so they stay on the screw and put the into the guitar. Use a piece of paper or similar under the pup to pull it up while using a screw driver to get the screws started, then simply remove the paper type thing. Should work. The guy that made was the guitar was like, hey, those pups are kind of hard to get in there - lol...

That bridge looks like a natural "roller" bridge.
It's the guitar's way of saying it was designed for a Bigsby. It was meant to be.
So I have to respectfully disagree with the Mrs. and throw another vote towards the Bigsby.

Ya, I'm still thinking a bigsby, see what happens. And, I was kind of thinking maybe a light natural burst finish added or at least a primp/touch-up type thing. There is room to add a small block of maple just under the bridge that I'd like to add Bigsby or no. See what happens - no rush and I like the guitar as is, so... no biggy.

Got the pickups back in - not really that bad actually. The paper thing didn't work as the tolerances of the pickup holes are close enough that the paper just kind of stuck in place. So, I went I just used two magnets. Used one on the pickup screw so the magatizm would hold the spring in place on the screw. Then, used another magnet to pull the pups up and get the screw started real quick. Harder than a strat pickguard or humbucker rings for sure, but, not that bad really either...

The guy that made the guitar let me know that a Vibramate would line right up with things and that the bridge and tail piece are Gibson USA specs. So, I think I'm on the hunt for a Vibramate and Bigsby B5 - although, it's going to be a slow hunt - gotta wait for the funds, the parts, and the stars to line up type thing...
