I’ve been playing my Yamaha TBRX504 with the original strings it came with. I think they are D’Addario rounds of some kind. I’ve been happy with the tone but it was not spectacular. I put a set of D’Addario XL Chrome Flats on today. OMG! What a difference. Played for hours switching between active and passive modes, playing with eq. I couldn’t find a bad tone. Love these strings. It’s like I bought a different bass.
