interstingly until J became the singer...we were downtuned & all normal songs were in E flat t accomodate the singer...that 1 flat radically alters the sound of songs..yes you can play Standard in a dif positin but man the use of open strings ringing in standard goes out the window,
J seems to have a voice change last 6 months...not as high as last years CD & not as high as the first one...the 2nd accident really caused some complications..
she doesnt know it yet but she is backing into the heavier range. She not real fond of the heavier stuff..
also..live it does get redundant in a way..once things are up..in your face,..its hard to reign it back.
did notice few years ago..soon as i went to strumming chords at singing time..then a heavier outburst between..drew in a broader audience.. reached more people with many styles of music..fav to me is on bass with just the drummer...get em dancing...then they stay up front for the rest of show..when we used to pummel em...it workded great on the heavy show only but in the bigger concerts with many bands..the variety worked..metal to funk to blues to ballads then cabaret..that is our shows lol
