New Rehearsal Track/Demo We Created Today:

A producer friend, whom I greatly admire, told me something tonight that I can't quite get my head around. We were listening to some playbacks and he remarked, "One thing, Rob....you play too cautiously most of the time....like you are afraid to make a mistake...and it imparts a kind of sterility into your work...this was some of your best work yet, to my ears, although it wasn't as historically precise...its like you forgot about that tightrope you walk on for a few measures...."

I'm just trying to really understand this right now...

I think he's trying to to pay you a compliment by saying that he enjoyed it when you lost the security blanket of cautiousness and flew by the seat of your pants.
Playing LIVE and in the moment instead of calculated and rehearsed.

Atta boy!

I understand what he is saying to you Rob, He is giving you a compliment about your work, but when you cut loose your just doing it in real time without worrying about making mistakes. Just play don't over think it. You will be more relaxed and have more fun with it. We will never do things perfect at all times, in our music or anything else we do. The audience isn't there to listen to hear a mistake they are there to be in the moment with their emotions to enjoy the Music. Keep on Rockin and keep up the Great work!!!!!!!!!!!

Robert, I only wish I was a musician rather than a guitar collector that makes a feeble attempt at playing. Because I would love to jam with you!
