New Recorder Mixer Incoming

I have and love my little Zoom R24 multitrack recorder. I use it at home to quickly lay down a few tracks here n there and also for recording band ideas. It records 8 tracks at once and it really isnt enough at times.
The Zoom Livetrack L20 does 16 at once AND doubles as a digital 16 channel board! Instead of EQ and bus sends on each strip, you hit Select on whatever channel and use a universal swt of bus feeds. Like most digital boards.
Good for recording demos. Can add vox afterwards.

It has 6 Aux buses! So we can each have oir own monitor mix for 5 members and still free up a bus for the subwoofer live. Can also use the Allen and Heath 16 channel board for live and simply run the direct out from each channel jnto the L20 to record a live show.

Will be here this week!
Fun!!

That’s got some serious funk! I do the direct out to interface board regularly, and it makes me happy...I’m sure this will make you happy in that way too. It’s pretty cool, some of the stuff out there today! We’re very fortunate.
I don't have my computer set up that way so it is the R24 to SD card. That goes to computer later or a simple mixdown right on the unit. This unit will be self standing for band use.
Fun stuff! Versatile. 6 monitor mixes plus 9 scene memory!

Yep...a good option to have. I have a 16 track stand alone box that pulls from any mixer inserts/direct outs to a hard drive....could go to a show, and not worry about space with a 1 terabyte drive.
Now discontinued though...

Crazy easy to set up though. Some decent recordings done with it too. Also works with an iPad/iPhone in place of a portable usb drive.

Well
Yeah, mixdown capabilities are super handy! Great for quick work! Diggin’ it!

Well yeah for real important stuff and cutting pasting etc I use the computer. If I have a 2 gtr plus bass demo to take to the band its juat as easy with the R24 to mix right there with phones.
It will be fun to record our songwriting sessions in 16 track!

No doubt! I would have loved that for gigging days! I’d have way more live stuff to rummage through!

Nice Jethro what Allen and Heath do you have?? been using the Allen and Heath QU-16 four years now live shows and practice.
The Mix Wizard 16:4. Rack mount size so not huge like our Yamaha board.
Wow! Yours is a fancy pants digital board! Sweet! Mine isn't. Just my home board I use for one band. I do like the 4 monitor sends plus fx. Need at least that many mixes.

Been playing briefly with the recorder. The effects go to main outs but do not record on each track unless mastering. Kind of nice you cant accidentally add some fx you don't want. Will try with band next week.

I guess for the band that plays out with our own equipment the most (Whiplash) we probably could upgrade our Yamaha MX24 mixer to a digital although it does work very well for us.
