New project

Love the swimming pool route. Not enough guitars have it.

This is a 1985 Fender Stratocaster body and it was routed H-SH from the factory. That kind of rout is very limiting...

Sometimes, odd color combinations look good. I needed knobs for my Stratocaster build and had some old Gibson top hats laying in a drawer.

Very cool! You did a nice job of shielding, something I do not do for HBs or stacked singles.

I have boxes of plastic and metal knobs so I can try them on.

The pots on this guitar are the "pop up" type, which I am excited about, and makes function less of a consideration with knob selection.

Unshielded guitars here will pick up the local FM radio station and two-way radio traffic from the nearby state university.

Without shielding, you can't even play these guitars.

I'm down with black...

If it works then it works. If you need to change to white then do so...

The advice is: leave it alone, do the minimum and give it time. If it doesn't work then you can change it later - but, you know this, Ray! :)
