New pickups and electronics for my SX Furrian Ash Tele

I was going to build a new guitar but realized that I had a guitar that needed to be upgraded. @RVA was very generous in offering a set of Destiny pickups here for no charge and I was the grateful recipient. So I had a set of new pickups that came out of a new Wolf Guitars Tele from RVA. I also had a brand new loaded control plate that came out of a new '17 Fender Standard Telecaster. My concern was the SX body is not full thickness and the stock pots are small. I checked the new CRL switch and it fits... the control cavity is deep enough. I couldn't know for sure if the new control plate would fit until I pulled everything out because the wiring was in the way. After it's all out, I tried it in the cavity . It won't go all the way down. The pots are stopping it from going in. The control cavity is too narrow. I don't have a dremel, but I do have a drill and a sharp drill bit. So I widened the cavity on one side only where the pots made contact. It took several passes with the drill to take off enough wood so the control plate fits in the cavity. It's snug, but it works. Installed the pickups, soldered everything up, put it back together, strung it up, tuned, adjusted and intonated. Played it for about an hour. It sounded like I was playing a Fender on steroids. The neck pickup was very very impressive... Full, warm and clear, not dark. The bridge was clear but not shrill or ice picky. All 3 positions were balanced and sounded great. Thanks Ray!

Looks fantastic jjudas!!! great job!! Enjoy! That's one of the nicest Tele's I've seen love the slim neck, I haven't played one as yet, but if I get the chance I certainly will be.
