New Pickups again Tomorrow

Interesting. I've done a little research since I've never seen these before. The description is cool, not sure about the look for me personally, but that doesn't mean anything. Looking forward to your review!

As things got busy yesterday. I did finish the pickup install in the evening after dinner.
Played through a few high gain amps on the stomp.

The pickups take high gain well.
Are they the best ?
Probably not. I will get an amp recording but in the mean time. I gave up trying to match the first solo. lol

Cool, I didn’t know about these (just looked them up).
A few years ago a friend of mine who got into winding built me a few that have a similar design with anA5 in between the bobbins and a single ceramic flanking magnet on then outside not 2 like these have. I dig them but they are not quite as high DCR as these.

I have to try them tomorrow through the EVH 5153 lbx.

Not much much processing either, no EQ except guitar and amp , I use Tape Deck style plugin in the DAW, that’s it. The pickups are super bright and this tone is red channel , gain slightly above 1/4. A lot of bass and resonance. Cut the tone in half on the guitar. I haven’t tried cranking the gain half way yet. The problem recording it is the amp overwhelms the headphones even turned down.
I got to get the speaker isolated this week.

The Man o War speaker is instantly better for high gain than the WGS Retro 30. The Retro 30 is very good also.
The Apocalypse pickups work well with the LBX red channel, even better with the blue channel, gain straight up and Bad Monkey in front.
It has a deep growl, not muddy.
