New Phone Too

I got a flip phone, it actually makes "phone calls."
It costs $23 per month.
I don't want or need an i phone.
I remember back around 1988 an A&R guy showed up in studio carrying a brick with an antenna. He hated the thing but the label insisted. I felt sorry for him. Suggested he leave it in his unlocked car. He'd already gone that route.
I recall thinking as I looked at it..."this feels like the beginning of the end. Nothing good will come of this."

I absolutely hate phones.
My children insist that spouse and I each have one. I am constantly leaving it behind, or forgetting to turn it on. Best is leaving it behind and not turning it on.

My carrier stopped talking to my flipper a couple years ago otherwise I'd still be using it. I've a samsung A10 thing now. Paid $25 for it new. I think it was designed or intended for foreign regions but functions okay here. It takes pictures and everything. Lucky me.

My service plan runs me $100 per year. that's just to connect. They used to charge by the minute but I amassed more minutes than I can possibly ever use so...
It's a Tracfone.

I neither want or require 24/7/365 connectivity.

Congrats on new phone!

I don't get exited about them but do use some of the functions.

I finally upgraded because my S10 is just very slow. I have been considering upgrading for a while now. It is a tool that just wasn't getting the job done.

I had to wait and wait for the Ticketmaster ticket to load at a concert last week.
You have to keep showing your ticket to get around the venue. "Your phone is your ticket" - they don't give another option.
I tried keeping it displayed, but it reverts to the main page after a while.
Toward the end one the ushers said you can screenshot it, but it convinced me it is time.

I am waiting / out for delivery right now on a used good / excellent condition unlocked S20 FE (my wife has the same. from the same vendor) through Swappa for $158 + tax.

One more. Since we have satellite radio in our cars, also have access to satellite via a phone app. Which lets me use my phone as a radio. Either thru the phone speakers or via Bluetooth to my big stereo in the garage or one of those little Bluetooth speakers.

A few years ago a Spectrum sales guy cold called and asked it we wanted to upgrade our 100 mbps service to 200 mbps service. I told him we never had any speed issues so I asked would the 200 mbps service just mean my computer would wait faster ? :pound-hand:
Comcast just recently upgraded our plan to 500mbps from 400. And yep. Wait faster for sure.

Me so jelly. I have yesterday's technology at tomorrow's prices today. 4G cell. I really am playing a waiting came. Fiber is within a mile of the house. But once I am done with my job on a permanent basis, I will be scaling back as much as I can to lower my profile on line.

But a phone w/ 108MP camera? Sounds like they should bundle an NAS to go with it.

I am excited to be back on an iPhone. I’m not the average big fan boy ,it just does what I want in a way am accustomed to.
For instance my streaming music choice is Pandora radio. It interfaces with the car more efficiently.
