I'm mostly on spending quarantine right now.

This BOSS Distortion Kit is a helluva deal at $50. The two BOSS 6" jumper cables that come with the kit usually cost about $15 each. Pretty nice looking cables, too. And then there are all the mods that are available for the DS-1... It could be the beginning of a new relationship... :love:

Buy it !!..tone down pretty far&been running around (9 o'clock on amp set on edge of breakup & tone dialed in )..vol up to unity then whack it as hard as you want

or tone nuetral-- vol up..little gain..heck of a boost

these things can break a clean amp so well , most ad to gained up amp & then complain its fizzy..its ugly that way cause it doubles up the already fizzy situation

my experience..this TS & SD1 type pedals..3 of the basic usable tones to stomp for immediate leads or thick crunch..& of course fuzz..many fuzzies, just cause
 
I have an old (20yrs) DS-1 that I just did some mods to as recommended by Brian Wampler. Change to asymmetrical clipping by replacing a clipping diode with a red LED and did a cap and resistor swap. Less fizzy now and more organic sounding.

Yes, Adrian, soldering was definitely involved! :ROFLMAO:

Here is what i did to get in the ballpark on pedals..then go seek out the pedals after find something i would use on a single stomp basically....the Boss MS3 hooked up to the computer ..serious tweakable & able to stack anything anywhere...what a great piece of gear for the money

pretty much have it set for live shows now ..can go from strait amp then into crazy stuff put fav pedals in 3 loops & use the MS3 with em

a/b'd against the Boss pedals..real close but the MS3 you can dial in so many more parameters on the pedal & make them so precise.

Yup. The DS-1 is the one one pedal I can't seem to take off my board. It works so well in front of a clean amp with every guitar that I have for old-school hard rock sounds that I think it's a permanent thing. I picked up the anniversary one a couple years ago that has all discreet components and it sounds as good as any of the modded ones I have messed around with.
