Black Strat, how bad can it be...

I didn't even realize it was a Gilmore'ish strat until someone said something. But, that's fine with me - he is a very tasteful lead guitar player to say the least...

Hopefully so. I just want a keeper whammy guitar. I really want an American strat, but this is pretty close for being a copy type guitar.

If the guitar is a keeper I think I'm going to be look'n for similar pick-guard. Which, hmm, I wonder if this pickguard dimensions, screw pattern are the same as a USA?

The MIM and MIA are the same patern. Both 11 screw guards on the Strats. I know cause im putting together a loaded pickguard with 1 hummy JR style with a cream colored DiMarzio 36th Aniversary pup. I know the rear trem covers are the same also cause my new Jimi Strat had a thin white rear trem cover where the pickguard was a nice thicker 3 ply so i bought a nice 3 ply for the trem cover.. The MIM and MIA use the offset screw patern on the rear trem cover where the Bullits,Squires , over seas stuff uses a more uniform screw pattern.

My Strat came with the 65 Grey Bottom single coils which sound great. But i just like to monkey with things and the cool thing about Strats is you can just swap out the whole pickguard,solder up the output jack and your on your way. The DiMarzio 36th Anivesary is a PAF specked pup. Alninco 5 mags and 7.5 ohm out put.

Oh ya i got the new pickguard and new trem cover from the Stratosphere on ebay. There made by All Parts and are top notch. Theres a million different Strat pickguards for sale on ebay.

I'm thinking about modding my HH strat pickguard to Fender SSS pickups. I seem to have enough HH guitars.
