New Old Gibson day

Just got this 1977 Gibson L6 Custom ebony, this one has been WELL LOVED and all original,
at least that's what I suppose, the pups are pretty early Bill Lawrence L500 with Patent Pending
stickers and all the pots are dating from 1976 and the solders looks unaltered.
The gloss finish was sanded off probably due to much of the finish has gone flat, a hot soldering
tool was left heating when the neck was laid on it leaving a small mark on the back of the headstock.
The neck is really small but comfy, the ebony fretboard makes it a breeze to play and it got a refret
along the way.
The peace sign looks cool but may hide something, will check that later :)
I like the fact that it only weight 8.2 lbs and is surprisingly well balanced.
Will be giving it a spin today to test further them growling pups.

Very cool guitar with some very cool pickups. Big congrats…

Your photos of the pups: Are they both 500-Lead’s? If you ever get a chance, can you measure both pup’s DC resistances? A few months ago I put together a Warmoth build, and installed a pair of Wilde (Bill & Becky Lawrence) pickups. L500R and a L500L. Absolutely love these pups! Very hifi in a good way. I’m wondering if you have the hotter version that Dimebag Darrell was known for… . The modern hot L500 from Wilde is designated as the L500XL.

Fantastic! I love me my L6-S!!
All the other L6s seem to have chrome covers, I wonder if the blade pickups are uncovered, original or add ons?? They all had Bill Lawrence of some sort.
Small thin playable neck!
