I'm not a keyboard player but I love the sound of analog synthesizers. Today I got a Korg ARP Odyssey. It is duophonic, meaning you can play two notes at the same time. After I learn to monkey around with this one, in the future I want to get a polyphonic synth. Even though I don't play key boards, I'm devoting time to learn to play. When I catch up with my legal stuff ( my sister and I got my folks home ) I plan on learning the key board. I also like Hammond organs with the cool draw bars! I got some cool plans for this. Hammonds are expensive! I don't see myself getting one any time too soon.

Hammonds can be had for free or very cheap if you look around. Most would be non working or have problems but if you like to tinker, they are amazing machines.
I've had a L111 and a E312. Both were non working. The free L was working the evening I picked it up. Lighter fluid mixed with Zoom Spout turbine oil got the tone wheel spinning in a couple of hours. The E took the next day to sort out. The man I bought it from for $100 had changed out the power cord 15 years prior and it hadn't worked since. After downloading schematics, I found his mistake and corrected it. It roared to life! I installed line outs on each and ran them through a leslie simulator into a small PA.
Tried as much as I could but I'm a guitar player. They have both been given to friends that could get some actual use out of them.
The best and most authentic Hammond sound can be had here: GSi - Soundware for musicians
Used with a midi controller it sounds great. I've had his previous version for a while to satisfy my Hammond craving when it hits me. It takes up a lot less physical space too.

Here is some photos of the Korg ARP Odyssey: I have been skimming through the Korg manual. It also comes with a copy of the original one made in Lexington, Mass. And it is suppose to be like the exact original, from what I understand. Today I'm going to tune the synth. I'm also going to attempt to run a guitar through it. Even though I don't fully understand and know this. I have been having a blast with this. Last night it was duaphonic. The other night I got into it, it was only monophonic. I was successfully coming up with Devo tones, Edgar Winter just a tad. I want to use this on one of my originals. With the recorder I got hooked up to my board, I'm having to do some distant miking so there will be a slight delay. I'm going to stop my yacking and show you the synth.

love the deep purple i grew up listening to them, we didn't have metal and heavy music back in the 90s in Georgia, i remember i had to beg my family to give money to go to the market and get a cassette i didn't know band names or anything, i use to chose with pictures lol and ask the seller is it heavy :))) they didn't play heavy music on the radio they didn't play on tv any internet, sometimes they would play some concerts during a break football match and i would record it on my VHS lol that's how i discovered all the bands.

Your are right! I barely looked on OC Craigs' List and they had a mess of clean ones which still work in the $200+ range! Thanks for the tip!
