New love for Bass

I completely forgot that I had asked my wife months and months ago for a Neural DSP plugin for Bass. Apparently she put it in the back of her head and I ended up receiving the Paralax plugin for Christmas this year. I spent a bit this past week messing around with it and the Solar 4 string I have. I usually end up noodling for a while with the plugin presets and doing some tweaking. Found some songs to play along with and was having a blast until my fingers were aching.

It's what it's all about right, just pluging in and having fun. I really missed that.

bass is a ton of fun and yes when you haven’t played in a while your sissy guitar fingers will have to transform into manly bass fingers. I felt that slight soreness for the last couple of months thanks to the Riff Masters contest.

Congrats and have fun with your plugin and rediscovering the joys of bass.
Maybe a sample of play will be in order soon?

That’s a fine looking bass you have there.
thanks Rick! I built her myself out of Warmoth parts. My dream bass.
I sold my other basses, including my venerable '66 J-Bass in 2019 when I sold
so much other stuff and moved to Tucson for my dying wife's sake.

But I kept this one bass. Could not part with her, because I knew I'd never see or build
another just like her. I had named her Luretta, after a song by Townes Van Zandt.
And I still have Luretta. I was playing bars with a local rocker here in Northern Michigan
during 2023, and my old colleagues called me out of retirement to play Bliss Fest with
them last August, which I did. I practiced hard, and nailed my parts. *grins

Loretta's got a great growl...
