Found a unique LP! It is a 1979 Artist.
So it has active EQ and 3 toggles for effects.
Not your grandpa's LP! It is easier to justify when I see they made less than 500 from 79 - 81. The EQ means it has real bass and treble with cut and boost controls. That alone and the unique, hot Fireburst finish is enough for me.
The other toggles are for treble boost, compreseor amd expander.
Will see.
I like the belly cut too for my svelte figure. :D

I just got a boner!
and at my age, that means something!

Congrats, that thing is stunning!!

Yeah... pickups were changed out 4 years ago as originals had shorts, apparently common with these.

It is a little weird looking (to me at least) that the pickup rings have gold screws. That likely explains it.
That is one fantastic looking guitar, what a sweet find! Congrats on that score.

Looks like the case is from another axe (4 control knob indents)

Do they work well? Better than regular tuners?

It's just that they had the fine-tuners on them more than anything. You can really "sweeten" the tuning with them. Another fantastic Norlin-era idea that had to be put to death because of the "everything was better in the 1950s" crowd.

Exactly. How can active EQ be a bad thing on the odd guitar? They could at least put that in some of the Modern line.
"Gibson doesn't do anything new. Ewww. They put push pull coil taps in".

The case is sposed to be OHSC. I think seller might have kept another 4 knob LP in that csse. They did come with the HD chainsaw case.

Never noticed the pickup ring screws. Should they be black or...?

That makes sense. I've had a few of those chainsaw cases over the years and kind of hate them, but YMMV. My '79 came with one and I actually sold it for a stupid amount of money and replaced it with a regular TKL Canada case.

On the screws, yeah, they are black with black pickup rings (nickel with cream). No biggie if you like them or you can replace them all for next to nothing if you want to be more original.
