I don't think so. My '94 Ibanez S540 LTD has large shark inlays on It. No issues on inlays.This guitar it's way better built than any Gibson ever made IMHO. I think block inlays falls down because they glued them unproperly.

I was talking about frets coming loose. I agree inlays would fall out do to glue issues.
