New Les Paul day!

Lol I'll be damned, I didn't even see the reveal video that this is an AliExpress before I commented! Had me fooled in the pictures and it wasnt until I saw the bridge in the video that it became clearer: the first thing that gives them away is the slotted screw adjusters on the bridge posts, as this is the standard import bridge often seen on Epiphones , rather than the usual threaded thumb screw posts.

Pretty good clone obviously! Lol

I just installed the Gibson DSC bridge pup that came out of my BFG and really gave this cheapo some BAWLSSS!

So they can make a guitar in China and put a Gibson logo on it? Is it advertised as a non-Gibson? Nice looking guitar either way, just curious.
Oh never mind, I saw the price!! Pretty obvious there. Wow!
In China you can manufacture any copy as long as everything is made in China.

In Spain, if these guitars come with a copy of the Gibson case, they can seize it at customs.

Ya, on the website(s) you never can see the headstock logo, so I was really curious if they even read "Gibson" on them.
I had only ever seen one guy review one on YouTube, but now there are a handful of videos up.

I Was really wondering how long it would take to show up.... And IF it was really going to show up.

Also how closely the real guitar matched the picture (mine is quite a bit different)

And I was curious about overall build quality, wasn't sure if I'd get some shoddy plywood under spray paint, or a passable player. I was honestly happily surprised with the whole process.

I knew to expect cheap electronics, but I can easily work around that.

Overall I'd say it's a fine guitar for $292 .
I am pleased with my purchase.
Know that I will never call this a Gibson
I will always just refer to it as a les paul...

I'm only just now seeing this thread, but I almost said something earlier when I saw your post in the "show me your riffs thread" and the first thing I noticed was the knobs being in the wrong place. It just looked odd and it really jumped out at me, I even paused the vid so I could compare with my LPs and yep, they're off, lol! Then I started seeing other things. I thought it might be some kind of custom job, but it said Gibson on the headstock. I decided to let it go rather than derail that thread. :rolf2:

Yep…first glance, I thought it was an Epiphone…like, one of the new ones with the open book headstock…then I didn’t know what to think, other than HNGD…
Counterfeiting sucks…but I understand the curiosity…my first mod would have involved a Dremmel and the headstock. Then the pickups.
