New Hercules stand is defective

I got my new hercules stand from sweet water today for my new strat is defective
And when i put the guitar on it dont close all the way down i have to press down then it closes
It feels like its binding up for aome reason my other stand dont do that i called them and i asked them if they could take a few bucks off of it but i have to call back monday and speak to my rep if they make me send it back i dont want a new one lol i got it on a wim, i do have another stand for my new strat

This is not the first time or the first place I have heard of this problem with their stands..

Yeah im just gonna send it back i might get a nice hard case for my new strat
