These Goth models, both Epi and Gibby, are the best suited for those single ply black pickguards(IMO)…they just look the part.Pickguard stays.
Yes, agreed! These Goth models, both Epi and Gibby, are the best suited for those single ply black pickguards(IMO)…they just look the part.
I would dye that fret board black.
I don’t know for sure but I bet stewmac would. I bought black water based dye from them but that was a for a guitar body.I haven't learned how yet.... I'll look into it some.
I wonder if I just rub stain on it, or if I need to prep the wood first.
Opinions vary about dyeing fretboard.I would dye that fret board black.
I was going to ask what you used, but I saw it in the other thread. Did it penetrate good? Are you getting black finger tips? Before

I used a wood dye when I did one years ago and it held up for a while, but started to rub out lighter spots. I said that I would dye the fret board black, but I wasn't thinking about how I would do it if I was to do it again. For just to darken rosewood Old English Scratch Remover does a pretty good job, it doesn't make it black, but it does darken it pretty well.
Gotta do what ya gotta do. You seem to like the guitar so far…so why not make it more enjoyable?Took the sander to the neck today.
