I just saw this on Reverb:

A week ahead of the NAMM show in Anaheim, Gibson guitars showcased a new solid body model at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The new model features a double cutaway body shape similar to the Les Paul DC or short-lived Spirit but with two offset upper horns.

As of now, little is known about the guitar apart from what can be observed from a few images that have circulated on social media. The guitar may be considered a newer version of the M-III design, or may be an entirely new model. Like other Gibson solid bodies, the mysterious guitar includes two humbuckers and a stopbar tailpiece, yet appears to only have two control knobs.

More information on this model will certainly be made available at NAMM next week.

Well, i like what i see in the pictures. But i think it will be difficult to establish a new shape in addition to the classical designs. Other really interesting ideas like the RD did not make it either. Nor did it blueshawk / nighthawk.

BTW: this shape would make a good and well balanced shortscale bass.

Something else: did You notice the guitar behind the trio? That's not an SG but apparently a solid body with really different florentine cutaways and an ES335-like pickguard. Another novelty?

An aging SG who gained some weight and now resembles an LP DC?
The pickguard does throw things off, a little bit of this and that from traditional designs?
like crashing hydrogen atoms together and not getting helium.

The one behind the 3.
Looks like a Johnny A. solidbody, which defeats the entire idea and purpose of the Johnny A. model.
I think they may be showing signs of desperation. Throw everything at the wall and see what sticks.
