When you pull a pickup out, you should see a metal plate that looks something like this…

Yes!!! Excellent view! And let’s not forget that there are other viable options for this type of rout…from Seymour Duncan, GFS, and I imagine more…Yep - here's a pic of the gold top during my pup swap.
Threaded plates, machine screws and springs make adjustments way easier than foam pads and wood screws.
