New Family Build - Amp Cab

Thanks for all thr compliments fellas. I am very happy with it. I had to go to a "party" as soon as I got it together. Don't these people get that the gear is the party!? Sound samples to come. Better yet, I will post them against the old samples with the open/closed Peavey 1x12 cab and see how far we have come.

Awesome and unique.
I see the face of Stewie Griffin from Family Guy mutated into ET in there.
Spooky.

Yes, but that is on the clean setting. Flip the voicing switch and it is straight to the '80's - way over the top gain!

So you get cleans....bluesie break up ---AND WAVY GRAVY HAIR BAND METAL......all in one little package---nice

Yep. Here, dirt was compliments of the crunch setting on the Empress Multidrive. The guitar was the Ebony R0

Lotsa good chime going on there!
Sounds pretty darn good to me:dood:

Does it live up to your expectations though?
Is it dramatically different from the Peavey cab?(it sounds like it to me...from memory...a bit more tight focus, and clarity. But it's been a while since I listened to that clip)

Thanks! It exceeds my expectations. After all, I have never built much of anything before, it was my first time using a router and I started this project so I could learn to use my table saw. I think it sounds quite good really, probably in large part due to some great speakers. They are very responsive to the EQ and compression. . Here is the clip with the Peavey (open then closed back)

Yep, vastly different recordings.
I'm, admittedly, a WGS fanboy. I've tried a few different models over the last decade, and have been happy with the performance of all of them. They sit next to Celestion, and Eminence speakers, and hold up well in comparisons.at my place.
Green Berets are relatively new to me...I've only had mine for a couple or three years, maybe more. They're up there in my favorite speaker list, along with a couple versions of their Reaper model. They've done nothing but improve with age/use. So, if you like them now...break them in a bit, and I'd wager you'll like them even more.
