That's right, amps, plural!
I wanted something to use a replacement for the little 6101 Marshall 30th Ann 1x12 combo. Great amp but getting nigh on 30 years old, I use it lots because often don't have much space and it takes up such little room, so full featured.
After much searching around I decided on the Mesa Boogie Mark V 35 combo. Actually still a little smaller than the Marshall but has lots of versatility and oddles of gain but easy to set! 5 band EQ is nice, can be switched separately or with a channel switch. Channel 1 has clean which is rarely used AND killer metal grind rhythm!! When switching to channel 2 can also have a separate Solo boost for channel 2 so can go from clean 1 to raunchy 2 and then solo without having to raise the volume of channel 2. . Then switch back to crunch channel with switch!
Has that nice chunk to it and very loud very fast. Selectable power outputs too.
Then, I traded in the Traynor YCS100 head. 3 channel, just never bonded with it tonally. Figured shoot for the top so got the Mesa Triple Crown 100. 3 channels, variable output, has killer floor shake even at lower settings through a 1x12!! Can't wait to get er going through the 2x12. Nice combination with the JVM and JMD1. Just something a bit different.
Yummy.
