Ampeg had a half price price sale on the Ampeg SVT suite plugins for Black Friday. I bought it and installed it. I'd been using the Galien Krueger amp sim in Reaper. I really liked the Ampeg sound so yesterday I traded in my Traynor SB110 on an Ampeg RB-210. I've had the Traynor for a couple of years and it has done me proud at a few gigs. It's 120 watts with a single 10" speaker. I love the weight. It was loud enough for most of the gigs on it's own. A couple I had to use it as a stage monitor and went with a DI into the PA. It sounded OK but since I got a five string bass I found it lacking something on the B string. The SVT plugin rocked the B string. The Ampeg RB-210 has two 10" speakers, 250 watts with the internal speaker, and 500 watts with an external 8 ohm speaker. I plan to get either a 15" cab or possibly two 10's. At home practice levels it has a huge tone. The B string is full and loud. I'll know more after our practice on Friday night. The picture is from the Internet.
