IF you take the time to learn the controls on that beast-----you will find Marshall tones-- Mesa tones-- fender tones and Peavey tones all in there--

the Transtube tech REALLY emulates tube break up -- well---

I have the Bandit 112

I have never used the 212--- but hey how can argue with more watts and another 12" speaker!!!!!!
THey didnt make as many 212's -- 112s are EVERYWHERE---

Try finding a USA made vintage Fender amp for under 200.00 BUWAHAHAHAH good luck

Give it a real try man --- I think you will fin you got a great amp there for a "Dinner and a Movie" price

Nice score.
I got nothing against good ss - and the Peavey Transtube is good.
I have a 10w practice amp I used a bit early on and it was ok but I didnt spend a LOT of time with it.
My son is using it and sometimes he gets some really good tone from it.

I cant imagine -- mine is (I think) 80 watts and 1, 12" Peavey Sheffield Speaker----

2 12's and 130 watts?!?!?! -- gonna take your head off if you crank it !!!!

you will find a LITTLE gain goes a LOOONG way in these -- your switches and knobs are a bit different-- but I know ---
if I
Plug into the HIGH gain input
select the distortion channel....
crank the PRE gain
click the GAIN button on
click the THRASH button on
and then RIDE the post gain--------

it is beyond STUPID levels of distortion---- NO fuzz needed--- no dirt pedal its just balls out KaaRANG
and the transtube knob REALLY makes a difference
the challenge is getting "a little" dirt out of it ---- it wants to SCREAM!!! Ive been working with my beastie though and have a nice warm tube toned blues sound coming from it now.

I hear it has great cleans and is good with pedals...what say you?

125.9% agree

The cleans are epic --- your gonna have a tone of fun with it ---
Ive only recent TRIED a couple pedals in the clean---
the transtube -- and the built in reverb are stellar with the clean ---

You are going to wonder --- after learning how to tame the beast----WHY people spend 500-1000--3000.00 or more on an amp---

My First amp was a Peavey SS Backstage 20-- I think ALL of them ever made are STILL out there

I have had a crap ton of them since --- you can not come close to the TONE PER DOLLAR spent with anything else ESPECIALLY in "vintage" USA made amps---

Shannon FOUND one of these by the side of the road in a TRASH pile----in 3 PIECES gathered them and brought home----

Put a HEMP belt on it as a strap (and to HOLD the "head" in the cabinet (thats ALL that holds it is the handle screws!!! )

I have that exact same amplifier.

I put casters on my so I could roll it. It is kind of heavy. The speakers have pretty big magnets.

Yeah, they are. They do sound good, too.

Did you attach the caster directly to the amp or build a cart for it to ride on?

I just screwed them right to the cabinet.

It’s not made of cheap particle board. I’ve rolled that amp over it’s fair share of parking lots! Making a little cart is a good idea, though.

I did have two issues with it.

Once, I had to resolder one of the effects loop jacks. I just reflowed the solder at the PCB.

The other issue was actually one of the stomp switches in the foot switch.

But, it still works great...and gets very loud!
