Thing about Jimi thats the most intriguing and inspiring, was that he was an African American transplant in swinging 60s London, going up against the likes of locals such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Peter Green, Ritchie Blackmore and Pete Townsend. These guys were the cream of the crop and minus Townsend, they were all heavily inspired by American Delta Blues, then along came this shabby, introverted ex-paratrooper and just blew down the doors of limitations of what blues and rock itself could really become.

He released 4 studio albums in 4 years and like a gust of wind, he was gone but laid a legacy no one has really matched despite the greats that followed. If thats not greatness, what is?
