@Robert Herndon
Hope your folks are feeling better soon Rob.

I love much of Neil Young's earlier records, and do like his singing voice on songs like After the Gold Rush, Needle and the Damage Done, etc.

I'll just say very mildly to respect RVA's request: I am deeply disappointed by Young's attempt to suppress the free speech of someone he doesn't agree with.

Hell, this all will sort itself out with a typical derailment eventually, so why mute anything? The memes, the random youtube videos, someone will probably chime in and go "hey, i saw the word 'Neil' and so that reminds me: did you know that Vince Neil once got a Rolex for staying sober on The Theatre of Pain Tour?" Or something along those lines.

Has anything ever stayed on course? No. There's a deficit in attention span here and anything anyone says doesn't normally make it 8 replies before we're onto a whole other topic. So if there's a "controversial" topic, its usually forgotten in about an hour anyways lol

And in a very politely Canadian fashion I ask: Wasn't Neil Young exerting his own right to free speech by expressing that view? Or am I missing something? Whether we agree or disagree is precisely what keeps the conversation and a healthy and respectful exchange of ideas going. Just some food for thought.

And now for a further derailment: It's DAMN cold up here today... FUUUUNGUS!!

Let's hope the derailment stays on track (see what I did there?)

Funny, I never knew there were so many famous people named Neil!

Which leads me to ask the following question: How many drummers does it take to change a lightbulb? Answer will follow in a few minutes... First, I brew meself a nice cuppa joe (not THAT Joe). In the meantime, feel free to chime in...

Follow up to that question would be….. how many [fill in name of college] athletes does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Only one. But they get 3 credit hours for it.
You're talking about the GUITAR string, right?... right?
Uhm……. Sure!

Well you asked so......
Politely as well, I think you are missing something.

Neil expressed his view - claiming Rogan spreads "misinformation" - ok, fine.
I respect Neil's free speech.

I'm not taking Rogan's side, I dont care what he says.
When Neil tried to have Rogan removed / silence him - not ok.

That is the issue at hand for me, not which side of the issue anyone is on.

You are destroying the attempted derail. Please stop re-railing.

OK, I'm back! Coffee refilled and consciousness regained! So then, how many drummers does it take to change a lightbulb? ALL of them... One to actually change it and the rest to argue about how Neil Peart would have done it much better.
