My Gibson SG - with stock Green Keys - exhibits no tendency to dive, but my double neck certainly does. It's not really noticeable at first, but after a while of playing while standing, I realize that I have been holding the necks up for a while now.
A studio musician acquaintance of mine told me about a neat product called "The Neck Dive Strap." They are made by a fellow in Joshua Tree, California. impressed with the performance of this product, he bought several and gave me one.
It's incredibly simple, comfortable and effective...and infinitely adjustable.
Its a nylon harness with a helmet-style quick-disconnect buckle. The guitar end is heavy, double thickness piece of stitched leather with a conventional strap hole.
It pops around the strap post (in my case because I use Dunlop Straplocks) and the Straplock locks into place outboard of it.
I ordered one up for my Ibanez Destroyer II, as it tends to be somewhat neck-heavy with its "SG-ish" strap attachment location.
Shipping, tax and all it was less than $27.00 to my door.
