Yup... New BuildYourOwnClone Silver Pony Pedal Again Day!

First, I assembled the kit then removed it from the enclosure. Then I sanded the aluminum enclosure up to 400 grit. Applied a few coats of enamel. Applied a DIY waterslide decal. A few more coats of clear gloss acrylic enamel. And reassembled:

I installed two pairs of sockets so I could conveniently try different germanium diodes in search for the magical unicorn one's:

On the left is my old Silver Pony (Rev 1.0) and my new Silver Pony (Rev 2.1):

When I purchased the old kit in 2015, I paid an extra $10 for the powder coated with graphics enclosure. Very well worth it unless you want to do your own thing. This time around, BYOC did not have any powder coated enclosures for the Silver Pony. Obviously, I ended up doing my own thing!

The 1.0 and the 2.1 circuits are slightly different from each other. The old 1.0 was cloned after an unusual Silver Klon Centaur that had slightly different component values than what Mr. Bill "Klon" Finnegan normally built. The 2.1 represents the more standard Klon component values. Also, the 2.1 has true bypass when the pedal is off. When the pedal is on, the signal goes through the original Klon buffer circuit.

And just for fun, check out this madness at Reverb.com:

How ‘bout this one?…;)

Yours looks really nice! I like the diode sockets a lot!

Can't say that Bill Finnegan doesn't have a sense of humor...
