It is here. Waiting 24hours to open it up wasn’t happening.
I haven’t plugged it in yet.
Here are some first impressions of the Ibanez SR605e.
It is light weight. It’s surprisingly light. I think my EC-1000 weighs more.
The body is slim and the edges are contoured. There aren’t any square edges.
The finish is smooth and sexy.
The wood grain showing through is nothing less than spectacular.
The neck feels smooth and fits my hand like a glove. “IF the glove fits… PLAY IT!”
Overall it is sleek and smooth looking, like a snake. With the wood grain giving it a nice textured look when the light hits it. I think I will name her “Black Mamba”

Sweetwater did an excellent job with the action. I don’t hear any fret buzz. The fret ends are as smooth as can be.
Now the hardwear.
The tuners are nice and firm.
All the control knobs (except volume) have a midway “bump” to let you know you are set to unity. I love that.
The bridge is really nice. I can, if I wanted to, space the strings closer or further apart.
And changing strings look to be a snap (pardon the pun). It’s a quick change bridge. The strings just slide in and out.
Cant wait to plug it in and see what I can do with these pups and active EQ.
