Pretty much have Fender Jazz in hand 90% of time & the Ibby's left in B & Drop C. Needed a p bass pickup & probably anguished over this bass purchase more than any. But found the fine line what was looking for.
Traditional P when needed(does it in spades-motown for sure) but at my size P bass necks can be a bugger. The videos were showing me traditional P sounds but like typical Ibanez..the tail end of the Volume knob gives that slightly more than Fender does. Its like a boost pedal actually & can play on 7 ish then dime to cut(again do not tell Jethro's bass player he ride the volume knob during gigs lol)
P/J pickups. 30" scale & the neck is right between a slim jazz & fender P. But rounded C profile. Its fast !! Now i know what normal height people experience on regular scale bases. World of dif but not all shorties work so well. especially on E flub. This is an done bass-no mods needed. Will of course tweak pick up height over time as a P/J gives a very dif snarl together
