New Bass Amp Day. Bought a Gibson SG bass earlier this year as a bucket list item to try and learn to play bass. Figured I ain’t that good at guitar I might as well try to be not that good at bass

In watching some how to bass videos, most said do not play without an amp, since it leads to bad habits. OK, GAS noted. Been looking at various low cost ones, and when I found this one, it was “buy me”. A new Roland CUBE-120XL for $280. Was delivered today. No time to fire it up tonight, but I have 4 days off this weekend and will be rattling some pictures on the walls :celebrate2:

I been looking for the smaller 60 watt version for sometime-- hard to find used (guess folks dont get rid of them) -- go figure--

I need a BASS match to my Roland Micro Cube lol

need a FOOL report once you fire that beast up.........how close are you to the fault line??????????????? BE CAREFUL!

Oh, and....congratulations sir!
Ya gotta let us know how that antique, hollow bass of yours sounds through it too!

Thanks GM, I’ll take a look and while we’re on the subject of learning what are the pros and cons for the right hand? Having played guitar for decades, obviously picking is not a problem for me, but I have been practicing with the 2 finger method. I can see it will take quite a while to master that as it a foreign concept for me.

Hi Don! Watch this, as it will answer your question perfectly:

Once you get the alternate plucking down, along with either floating your thumb or planting it from
pickup to E string, A string, etc., it will quickly become subconcious.

Ok, that’s another good lesson. I watched one the other day that showed when fingering the string continue to the next lower one to mute it. That seems to make sense too.
