About 10 years ago. Yes, that's me sitting in the drivers seat. Yes that's me driving the Tri-Oval. Got to do 6 laps. Was not very fast, but it sure was fun. My only real concern was stalling the car on pit road leaving to go take laps. Almost did.... but got her clutched and the do-over and got her moving. Why mention this years later. NASCAR is running Chicagoland Raceway (Joliet) this weekend. It's the track I drove.

That’s amazing

I had two trips to Homestead FL where I had full access passes. It was a new experience to me. The best part was walking the pits and realizing, "uh, the pit wall is 10 feet from me. Why am I allowed to be here?!?"
It was loud and cool. But when I retreated to the stands, I had no idea what was going on. You could see the cars a mile away on the far side of the track for a millisecond, but they were so far away, you had no idea what car was which. So, you ended up watching the in-field video screen which was basically watching the same feed as you would at home, but .....louder.
