Thats right new amp day!! went to my favorite shop today and picked up this Blackstar ID:Core Stereo10V4. This thing packs a punch has great tones, I played it in the shop for an hour and a half, i just had to take it home! 10 Watts of power and sweet tones , Crunch, Clean bright, Clean warm, Super Crunch.OD 1, OD 2, Delay, Reverb, modulation and more! And have to have that aux for my MP3 player, sounds great.

I have the Blackstar Fly3 which i love, that i take to my summer place, and now for the month of May and Sept, i will be using this to crank up for those two months when there is hardly anyone around. I was using my other Blackstar 15 E which had lots of gumph, but i wasn't getting the tones i really wanted so i traded it off.

I wasn't able to play one when i purchased it, my local shop was not a Blackstar dealer at the time, but now that Long&Mcwade took them over they are a Blackstar dealer.

So now I have the 4 amps i really want now, The Vox Rhythm 5 will probably be going up for sale at some point.

I wasn't one for modelling amps. I had tried some a few years back. But now that my shop was a Blackstar dealer i saw this one sitting there with the larger ones. I wanted an amp that could give me great tones, without using pedals, which i could than eliminate from having them at the trailer.

So I seen this 10 watt sitting there , i knew would probably give me enough juice to be able to crank up in the months of May and Sept, when there is few people in the park at that time, and also do a few gigs in the park if need be. as i have done a few with my 5 amp Vox Rhythm 5.

Playing this amp has now changed my outlook on modelling amps, I can get everything i need from this amp Crunch, Super Crunch, OD 1, OD 2, Reverb, Delay, Chorus, which i mostly use, and of course i need Aux for my MP3 player, which it has. And it has much more beyond that, but i probably won't be using it.

This is a perfect practice amp! it has lots of volume with great tones, it does everything well. Of course it would not keep up with drums, but its not far off, and not meant to.

My purpose is for practice and small gigs. But I can tell you, if you were playing in a small band the larger wattage ones would be great IMHO. I can see now why some guys are using them now to gig with.

The more I play it the more i like it. For anyone that thinks modelling amps can't produce good tones, i say think again. Blackstar to me has hit a home run with these amps. I played the 20 watt as well, i had plenty of volume with the 10 for my purpose. They get loud!

I am happy I gave the Blackstar a try, No more pedals for the trailer, can even reduce to 1 watt power and still has great tones, light weight, small in size massive tone , the stereo sound is Sweet!
