First the disclaimer: I am not much of a guitarist! That being said, what do you do when your best bud offers to build, from scratch, a 5 watt single ended 6v6 guitar amp? He even had the head and speaker cab built for it. I I plan on staining the head and speaker cab eventually, but couldn’t resist plugging in and making obscene noises with it. (Wife’s gone for the weekend, so I gotta get my fun somewhere!)

Now the fun part! The most excellent bud that built this beast has kindly consented to letting me bankroll another amp: he’s going to clone a Sunn 200s bass head for me. Way back when I was playing the club circuit in northern Alabama, my amp of choice was a 1968 Sunn 200s. It is the only bass amp that I ever regretted getting rid of. Not sure when this adventure is going to begin, but I think it will be a wild ride. Planning on having a 2x10 cabinet built to run it through. Life is great!

if such a critter can be had, my bud Jim Robinson can root it out! If not, we’ll find a schematic for something comparable that OT’s and PT’s can be sourced.
