&, I believe you are correct. I did love my 1 watt Randall tuber, but this is even better. I now need to sort meself out a large house with a sound-proofed basement and get one of those DSL 40 heads and a 4x12

I’ve made no changes to the amp, itself. But, I do run to a different external speaker. I’ll probably change that, as well, at some point. Maybe, I’ll do something like a Vintage 30 or Greenback.

Is the reverse true too? I see the speaker cable plugs into the head - could I put another little head on top and plug the speaker cable into it? (I know it begs the question of why didn't I get a head and cab, but the heads weren't available locally...)

Yes, you could. But the cable for the speaker pretty much just reaches the speaker jack.

I don’t know if there is enough slack to reach up to another head. You may have to use a coupler and another cable to do that.

Can I ask why, as I'm up for a mod or two. Also, what speaker would you put in? I noticed the stock speaker costs about $30, but I'd happily throw in a $100 speaker if it'll add to the pleasure.

Long story, Goldmember hipped me to it right after I got my DSL15. It takes the harshness and fizz out of the drive channel without affecting the clean channel.

I paid $30.00 for a "trick" patch from Weber for my attenuator. After examining it, I discovered its just red/black, heavy-gauge auto speaker cable.

Local stereo shop gave me a 5 foot piece free (with identical markings to the Weber patch) and I canabalized a patch cable to make a 3 footer that would not rip the speaker spade connectors out if the attenuator was dropped. All soldered and shrink wrapped.



After this photo was taken, I swapped on a 90 degree end...
