To begin the story... I bought my 1st Vox amp in about 1967. It was a Vox Royal Guardmen. Certainly one of the best amps I ever owned and played shows with. It did everything I asked of it and more. In the pic, it is just behind me with an added Berkley II or III cabinet on it. Awesome sound....

I used it until about 30 or so years ago and started moving to other smaller amps. (BTW... I still have the "Vox Full Stack")
Well, since it was 50 years ago that I bought the Guardsmen... I was at Sweetwater today and have been thinking about a small stage amp to give me my stage volume since I run my guitar to my DR 880 effects, then normally to the PA. Because it has been hard controlling my volume thru the sound person and the monitors, I tried running a split signal to an extra powered monitor I have but again, I had volume control problems while playing.
So, in honor of my 50th anniversary of my first Vox, I picked up the following..............

It is the Vox AC 10C1. I spent about an hour with it and an SG off their wall and was really impressed with the sound, power, gain/ volume and all that this little power house offered. I faced the fact that I can't lug my big equipment around like I once did, so for the sake of "down sizing", this little tube amp impressed me. Another factor was that it was on sale and on top of that, they knocked off a little bit more from the sale price. (Most likely because I have been with Sweetwater a long time and bought a LOT of stuff thru them...) Anyway, I haven't even taken it out of the box yet (maybe later) and will run my guitars thru it in the music room. I will try to give an overview when I can. Oh, and another thing that I liked is that I have a couple of gigs coming up to test it out and Sweetwater does have a 30 day return policy.......
