Mesa f100 2x12 combo, 4 6l6, 60/100 watt. 2 channel with Contour n lead(Mesa V dip basically)

Played all my guitars through. responds to each one well., wasn't just all Mesa amp sound like a Rec can sorta do. Channel A clean..its as excellent as they say. Chimey,,clean..crisp, articulate..strumming dream.
Chan 2..took me half a day to get out of the low gain bluesy stuff..was just floored at the immediacy & presentation of notes. Had a few amps on to compare. this is a blast,
then on to contour..it kicks up somewhere between a recto & mark somehow..gain is usable the whole sweep & doesn't start the Mesa mid fizz thing until end of dial.

Crazy it can country..hard rock..super clean pikin, 80's..brootz..very simple to set the amp up

Was able to set footswitch to clean..then gain 1 for crunch & contour for liquidy solo's. of course a few pedals added in really can make it very precise if needed.
I love mesa gain structure, had one before so was understanding of the interaction. This aint a Rec or Mark but somewhere in the middle with an amazing clean channel. 100 for super tight & massive bottom for the heavies & 60 allows for a tiny give. Believe the tight super fast response is something that i have been seeking. The notes pop quick & the sustain is unreal on this thing. left back off to show inside. Scored this for $450

JUDAS PRIEST MAN!
I had a Subway Blues 25 watt I had to attenuate to use at home...............crank that thing and point it South we can jam on your tunes in Da SWAMP!
Its loud but also one of the best MV at low level i ever used. The EQ can really dial it in low,. I think its the Mesa amp for those that favor Marshall but like a tinge of block letter 5150..

Got it on some mic time. My gosh the gain channel has built in mids galore. In Drop d for this song but just don't want to scoop it after hearing . It tracked real nice in the mix. Very touchy if anything,, have to hit the notes, not as forgiving.

Then got the SGF out & messed with the mid gain to just slight gain..there is so much bluesy rock leads there that make it hard to stop playing. Got it fr the heavies but like the 5150 turned using it for other purposes than intended,.. having the 5150..f100 & DSL all on at same time with the loopers running..how cool it is to layer them & hear the differences.

Got to know F'y pretty well yesterday. The 2nd gain stage was where all the mojo came alive in my case. Put Ruby 12ax7 HG's in. The 2nd stage now is amazing on channel 2..the the contour makes is almost the V scoop mesa does...but..this amp is way more mid forward than most of the Mesa's i have played. It's so musical ..the notes even under high gain can be heard & the attack response is right back at ya..can almost be scary..better play it right or it will spank you.

What didn't see coming was how i can cop my marshall sounds that were just just recorded with, pretty darn close. No doubt as some of amps sell, a recto & mark iv will be appearing on the scene. No reason to run it so scooped..they really sit well in a mix..then if yuo want... & still boggles me...pristine clean..then reg crunch then brootz. This & the 5150..can't wait to start side B.

Pretty much everything you describe is why I love Mesa's so much. One aspect that gets overlooked with them a lot, because they are so known for high-gain, is the clean channels absolutely crush and take pedals better than just about anything out there, which makes the amps unbelievably versatile. With my pedalboard in front of the Mark 5 and using the onboard EQ as a solo boost I have 4 or 5 very usable core tones before any modulation or time effects.

So true Gball. Glad learned my into them..going through all the amps, learned so much about how i attack & strum. If i got this mesa early on. Would have had no clue because i didn't know what i wanted in the long run.

Being a guitar vol & tone rider & not really a pedal stomper..just floored at this amp. Sure did use the pedals today & man the tone palet expanded to endless..the amp circuit seems to be clear or something..can't quite explain it. Now all the things mesa are known for is serious tone weapons & really get you to craft your tone.

First amp in years.. sit on the marshall VS 100 about 2 ft from it & enjoy the guitars & their individual tones come out., . can hear the tone i seek even low without the amp under performing ..the bottm stays ..the crispness stays..its just lower...man p90's just came to life. Amp can be set from barely on & keep the tone & depth then when you change levels , bare minimum tweaking. The gain knob is usable all the way. been eyeing up the final amp line up as studio is almost permaenent..some stuff is going to change for sure. Gotta get a Mark tho..lol

Just scored anther mesa for 511. So glad moved all the excess gear. Working on putting the Marshall's in 1 stack in the main tone corner. or maybe put the heads on a rack & then have the cabs in a spot..that would prob make mre sense & leave a combo tilted at me for writing..

even in the studio..my brain just likes to see the head on the cab..even if it has nothing to do with anything,,lol
