NAD.. Jet City JCA20HV

Was going to mod this thing as my first try but with the good glass in it...it's on. Going to take it to my buddies soon & put the 800 L & this Right in a mix. Got to hear it,

Last night told my AHDH to take a hike & watched a guy explain the dif between a bassman & jtm then into 1987 circuit. He had the schematics laid out side by side..if i pause & look, really concentrate, it starts to sink in. Learning curve on what the things mean, then it starts to make sense

All these amps here in the great experiment recently have taught me so much about hw precise an amp can be placed in a mix or used with a 2nd guitar without cancelling one anther out.having them side by side was key. Especially Marshall-Mesa(then Orange- which might have done it on the gain knob better than both of them actually-as far as instant mix placement & way better control with the dials..all dials work in very small increments & actually move the eq so precise.you can place it above or under anther amp in the mix) & learning pre shape & tube shape as 2 contrasting ways to build tone. Found my 5 basic amps i consider a base to build on & they sit on a 4x12 with matched cab/speakers.

See the next journey being mods then a build.

Have that jtm45 clone with 6l6 & my amp builder friend is encouraging me to take it apart . I want to gut it & either blusebreaker style it kt66 or make it so modded up with cascading gain on 1 side & other side for clean or mingle them. Have to decide if it going to be tube rec or Solid then go from there.

Also a mini 6v6 seems to interst me like Ceraitone - OTS20 or SOY. That SOY is set up so well in everything i watch

Knowing you, like I do by now.

You'll be modding soon, then get famous for the BFT Channel mod, start your own amp company, and we'll all say "We knew him way back when" Lol

I have no doubt whatsoever, that you will master the art of modding and building. Here's a toast to ya bro! :beers:

plz no..lol... was supposed to retire this year..then the virus thing hit & saw a father & son who needed work & started another territory....i am beat..exhausted & worn down.

my wish is to be able to hold all original music shows & only have that & a band to do. But..prob won't happen as the Mrs declines
