NAD...If You Can See It!

awh you SUCK! now I want one.....I was sooooo hoping you HATED IT an it SUCKED....but NOOOOO--- now I intercourse want one.........

Chris----- you have a spare room I can crash in?? in the event I get divorced?

Thing is I plugged it expecting to hate it or at least not like it. I mean come on...look at the thing...how can it possibly work and work well?
It just shows how far technology has come...Does it sound like a 6L6 or 6V6 tube amp?? Maybe not, but it does sound good so far.

I need to pull the AC15 out and do a side by side...

ys side by side------- yes ----must know-------if it sounds the SAME ---as it does in online videos (damn near identical to an AC15) I will be screwed---there will be no alternative but to buy one

Damn! Color me impressed for sure now! Another 30 minutes of testing side by side with my AC15C1 through the same 4x12 cab.
That little bastard comes really close to matching the sound of the full size tube monster! The full size has a little more range due
to the Normal and Top Boost channels, but the little guy keeps up real well...of course the little fella has no Tremolo or Reverb, but
there are pedals for that.

I also had to run the little one on the 4 ohm output to get the volume I was getting with the big boy on it's normal 16 ohm
setting...so it was 15 watts against 50. I did run the small one at 16 ohms to drop the power to 12.5 watts and it still sounded
fine, but of course lost some volume.

I am totally sold...It's a keeper for sure and it also works remarkably well with the guitar running through the Kemper too!

If you have a music store nearby that has one of these in I'd go check it out...or for the cost of shipping you could buy
and return from Sweetwater...but I think if you get one you'll keep it...be nice to see them drop to $149 or look for a sale!

Remember I have the "CLEAN" model and I can get nearly the same distortion as my AC15C1 not fuzzy racket either
nice clean distortion if that makes any sense...

...another note. All playing was done on a 2016 SG and the same cables were used during testing...

damn it..........you where supposed to hate it and sell it off to me for 75.00 a cookie........damn it.

Nice review - I'm also surprised you like it so much; especially the 'clean' model while 'crunchy'.

I'm seriously considering one of these. Please come back and update this when the honeymoon is over. It looks like an awesome amp but first impressions sometimes change after a month or so.

You are correct! But so far so good and for $199 for such a small footprint. There may be other tiny $199 amps out there, but I haven't played any of them.

I was surprised it did the crunch nicely. But it still does clean too. It's all a matter of where you dial everything up to and the Flat/Deep switch position.

...now it they made a speaker this size that sounded as good as a 1x12 cab we'd be smokin'!

Anyone out there ever us a solid state Hotone 5 watt amp? They have one that is supposed to emulate a Fender Tweed.

Maybe I should get one of those to compare??? They are $89 compared to the $199 of this VOX, but they are 100% solid state
and only 1/10th the power output...

If you've used one post up!

Yes...but you'll have to do all my yard work and heavy lifting! Oh, and no 4 legged friends...

Haven't used one but a friend has the Hotone Purple (Plexi). It sounds pretty good but it is not really loud enough to play with a drummer. Great for home use but not much else.

Soooo Guitarist magazine just did a 6 page review on these babies and gave them all a 9/10 and said in the Cons...there is really no fault to be found!

Go out and get one! I'm digging the hell out of mine!
