NAD - Cornell Traveller 5

^ yeah, I do prefer to buy from real people running small businesses in Europe or US - just makes you feel you're spending money on something well made which isn't going to slave labour or share holders. It's a good reason to let some money slide away... Is that an Oasis song?

A nice live version here:

Never loved the band that much, but I like this guitar width...

That is so true, I've sometimes wanted an amp that I couldnt justify the cost of then spent more on pedals with a few weeks - maybe trying to hide the purchase from the wife...

Blimey, I forgot what a terrible singer Liam Gallagher was... Here's a more recent English band that are pretty interesting (I could do with a bit more angst and guitar, but...):

I think this is a crappy show like "Italy has Talent", and she kinda blows them away; the wannabe readymadeBands didn't know what to think when real talent was in their midst.

I've also been looking at that pic thinking what pedal I'd like most - &, it looks like that dusted Orange on the top row is a pedal I used to have, sounded pretty good (I had the original too which I think was called the Mad Professor Sweet Honey OD) - could be wrong, but it looks that way.

Anyways, the DOD Bonebreaker - I'll cc my address.

Edit to add: I've always wanted to try the Echoplex preamp.

Ignoring the terrible haircut and awful early banter, the mellow tune helps me to forget my ampedmistakedness... :paw:

^ very surreal, it's kinda (sp?) Erita Franklin, Otis Redding, Muddy Walters and more all in one. That fella has the Blues, he has Soul, and it looks like he made a deal with the devil and just past that crossroad...

Thats actually an xotic BB preamp... Killer pedal:

Oh, that's a great pedal - but the range is hard to understand. That's another pedal I have nearly bought many times, don't they have an Andy Timmons which is supposed to have the juice?

The EP preamp is super sweet. An always-on pedal. I never leave home without it, but then again I never leave home....

Haha, great line. :D

Ivan/Sysco- if they both send me a pedal then I can put that to the test.
Well here's a deal,,, if you can find say, 5 or 6 (or a few more) of these offered for sale at a reasonable priceIMG_20200328_073708.jpg
NOS (new old stock) RS (radio spares) Hi-K ceramic "dogbone" capacitors, 0.01uf/350V, & send me a link to them (eBay UK etc), I will make you a FREE treble booster pedal featuring a NOS Mullard CV7003/OC44 transistor & NOS HI-K ceramic dogbone input & output capacitors. You will have to wait until the caps are delivered, of course, but I would order immediately.
These caps were used in the original Rangemasters. Note, they are very hard to find in the 0.01uf/350Volt value, I've been looking for a good while as I've only got the one pictured left. Cheers
Edit:
What's a "reasonable" price for these capacitors?? Well, looking back through invoices, I've been paying AU$13 ~ AU$17 for 5 pieces ~ 10 pieces of similar 350V rated RS HI-K ceramic dogbone caps in "other" values, so up to say AU$20 (plus shipping) would be reasonable for 5 or (preferably) more pieces. Cheers

Here's an oldie and a goldie that I'm still tryimng to learn to play, one day...

This was simply amazing to hear just now. This is the first time I've heard of this song... or anything by the Funkadelic. Totally clueless about this band. I just checked, and there's still 2 or 3 of them still alive. So the man with the sweet and soulful lead guitar playing is Eddie Hazel … R.I.P.

I was wondering if @ivan H or @syscokid have ever built a Klon circuit pedal before. They're supposed to be fairly simple, but I've read sourcing original components isn't easy for that one either. I would really like a Klon with a Cornish buffer.
After Sysco posted his BYOC Silver Pony 11 kit pedal build I also built oneIMG_20200328_142604.jpg
It's basically a Klon Centaur with switchable clipping options (stock germanium diodes, silicon diodes or LED's) & also features a boost circuit that can be footswitched in (replicates a Klon being used as a booster). The boost section is not a complete Klon circuit as it's missing the tone control.
I followed Sysco's advice & swapped out a capacitor value in the boost section to make its frequency response more suitable for guitar (less bass response).
BYOC kits are good quality complete kits & great value. Assembling one of these should be accomplishable by the average person so long as they follow the downloadable instruction carefully. Kits like these are a great way to get started in DIY pedals. Cheers
Edit: Thanks for the kind words. Cheers

That's incredibly kind of you Ivan, and I'll have a look around - I'd wanna pay my way though. I suspect this is all academic though because if you cannot find it, I doubt I can. Nonetheless, I'll have a go - maybe they can be found in Korea somewhere - I'll send out a few emails.

They'll most likely be found in the UK, that's where I usually find them. They are 60's~70's era components. RS (or Radio Spares) may be found in many countries now, but started out as a (possibly surplus) electronics supplier in England. I've never found these type capacitors anywhere else. Cheers

OK, thanks for the suggestion, I'll get my little brother back in the UK on the job. I'll also have a search about...

Shortly after you sent me those prized RS ceramic HI-K caps, a .01 uF and a .005 uF, I've been looking for more of them. I usually check once every couple of weeks, but I have not found any in those particular values... :(

I check at least once a week. I've also sent messages to people that I buy these type components from, enquiring about that 0.01uf/350V value (also the 470pf & 500pf values used in 70's Marshalls) with no joy. I have probably 7 of the 0.005uf/350V dogbones. I did find 3 of the 470pf in 700V. They're physically bigger than the 350V, but they suffice for a NOS component 2203/Caswell #39 type build. I have mustard caps & Piher resistors for two more 100 watt builds, than my NOS parts stash will be severely depleted. Cheers
