Ok. Yes. Yet another amp!
Before you all start saying WTH!!
Here is the short story on what started this whole thing in bullet point summary format.
1) Went to buy a guitar at GC.
2) Guitar was broken.
3) Guitar is back ordered since dawn of time until the end of time.
4) Money for guitar burning hole in pocket.
5) Hunted for bargains.
6) Money used on a poop ton of gear.
That guitar non-purchase afforded me
2 Behringer pedals
1 Alesis Strike amp 8
1 EVH 5150 112
2 Joyo amps
1 bass POD modeler
1 really nice dinner out with the wife. (Ok that’s not gear, but it paves the way for more gear without retribution)

Today I received the Joyo VIVO amp (5150 clone).
I find the name VIVO funny because they were going with the Roman numeral V meaning 5, but in Italian it means “I live”.
As per usual, my review of the amp will come. But first …

The amp is the little white thing. It’s easy to miss the little bugger.

here are my impressions of the Joyo VIVO.
Like the Zombie it can crank! Same rugged build and simple controls.
It’s got more high end than the zombie. The distortion on it is pleasant and not too harsh. Although, unlike the Zombie there is a good bit of hiss, where the zombie is ultra quiet. But that was remedied with a noise gate through the FX loop.

Is it a 5150 amp … no, but close enough for 1/10th the price tag.

Both amps volume was never dimed out. Not even close. The volume was set at about 10oclock. They are really loud. I still can’t get over the power in these things.
The tone control was simple and nice, it does have plenty of gradient tone from dark to bright. With an EQ you can shape your tone further as you wish.

Best of all, they are affordable options if you have an itch for an amp and don’t want to spend a thousand dollars, plus they are really portable!
My original idea was to keep both of these at my son’s house. But since they are so small, I’ll transport them back and forth if I want to.

I hope my impressions of these amps, pedals, and misc gear have been informative and helpful.

Those little amps look Hella Cool! I didn't even know they existed. Are they actually as small as they look?

Those look very attractive for someone looking for portability, especially considering the price.

Also, I played through my friends 5150 stealth. I can’t say anything bad about that thing. It sounds as good as it looks

I did roll a few different tubes through that thing. Maybe that explains the hiss, or lack there of. I don't remember if I put the stock one back in or not. Maybe compare the two? I dunno.
